The CDC database
The CDC keeps statistics on the number of AIDS cases in the US reported
each year. This graph shows the adult/adolescent cases. The data used
was extracted from the
AIDS Public Information Data Set
(to 1994) and the CDC Surveillance reports (1993-1997). Note that the 1998 end-of-year
data isn't out yet, so I used the July 1997 to June 1998 data.
Since I combined different sources for the different years and the CDC
updates its numbers each year as it gets more information, I can't
guarantee that these numbers are exactly right.
They should be very close, though.
