Screen shot TinyViewer

TinyViewer is a small program to view images on the PalmPilot, and supports the ImageViewer format. As a new feature, TinyViewer supports zooming out to help you view large images. Another advantage is that it is much smaller (7k vs 30k) to preserve your precious memory. Of course, TinyViewer leaves out some functionality, such as managing the databases or handling notes, but c'est la vie.

Tiny Viewer also includes Image Compressor, which will convert uncompressed images to to compressed form, potentially saving you lots of memory.

What do users say about Tiny Viewer?
"Very well done", "Really neat", "Oh what a blessing", "I just loaded your program on my PalmPilot and I'm very pleased with what it can do. Good job!!", "Thank you for a VERY necessary item", "Too cool", "Works great, you're a genius!"

To use TinyViewer, simply tap on an image name to display the image and then use the pen to scroll the image around. Tap Menu to return to the selection page. Press the up or down button to zoom out or back.

Registration

No registration is required for this software. However, if you're a Pilot developer it's only fair that you send me a copy of your program if you use mine.

Images

To convert images to Pilot form, conversion utilities are available, or utilities with source and information on the format. Or you can go to http://palmimage.sourceforge.net. You can get various images from www.memoware.com, among other places.

Disclaimer: this program pokes around with various display registers; be warned that it may leave your Pilot in a weird state. (It shouldn't, of course, so let me know if you encounter problems.) I've also had a report of crashes when it runs out of memory.

(For documentation on the PalmPilot display, see Motorola's MC68328 information.)

Take a look at the book PalmPilot: The Ultimate Guide, which includes this program. Another useful book to check out is Palmpilot Programming from O'Reilly & Associates.
